Ferrometal Awarded EcoVadis Silver – Among the Most Responsible Companies in the Industry

Ferrometal’s long-term sustainability efforts were evaluated for the first time in 2025 by the international EcoVadis assessment system. The result was a significant Silver-level recognition.

EcoVadis is the world’s most widely used sustainability rating system for companies.

The Silver rating places Ferrometal among the top 15 percent of all assessed companies. Globally, EcoVadis has evaluated more than 150,000 companies across 185 countries, with over 130,000 active ratings.

“Achieving the Silver level confirms that our long-term sustainability work is progressing in the right direction and can be transparently verified. The EcoVadis assessment also supports our customers’ sustainability reporting and strengthens supply chain transparency,” says Mika Brandt, CEO of Ferrometal.

The EcoVadis assessment is based on international frameworks and standards such as the UN Global Compact principles, ILO conventions, and ISO standards. The evaluation helps companies measure, develop, and report their sustainability performance transparently and comparably.

EcoVadis measures sustainability across four categories

The EcoVadis assessment covers four key areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Environmental responsibility evaluates aspects such as energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste and water management. In terms of labour and human rights, the assessment focuses on employee rights, well-being, and occupational safety.

EcoVadis also reviews companies’ ethical practices and anti-corruption measures, as well as supply chain responsibility from the perspective of sustainable procurement.

“Ferrometal’s results were strong across all measured categories. The assessment also serves as a valuable roadmap for future development actions that will further strengthen our responsible business practices,” Brandt says, adding:

“We will enhance our environmental policy and clarify our reporting on sustainable procurement and ethical principles. This will increase transparency throughout the entire supply chain.”
